Gangnam Style AI: CapCut vs Generator

A CapCut template is quick and usually free; the generator keeps the beats and your three people. What you get from each, and when each one makes sense.

There are two quick ways to make a Gangnam Style AI video: a CapCut template or a one-click generator. Both start from photos of three people, and both end with a short clip you can share. What happens in between is quite different.

The short answer

Use a CapCut template if you want something quick and free and you're happy with whatever the template does. Use the one-click generator if you want the four beats of the original clip in the right order, with your own three people and the original audio.

How a CapCut template works

Many Gangnam Style AI videos on TikTok carry a CapCut link. Tap Try this template, add your own photos or Live Photos, and CapCut drops them into an edit someone else built. The motion, the cuts and the timing are decided by the template's creator, and they vary a lot from one template to the next. Some follow the beats closely, many don't.

How the generator works

The generator recreates the original clip the trend is built on, a song-and-dance number by three singers on a terrace at night, with your three people in it. It follows the same beats: the center person sings into the lens in close-up, a whip pan to the left person's solo, then the right person's solo in front of a glass building, and back to the center close-up with an open-handed wave.

You sign in with Google, upload one photo each for Left, Center and Right, and press Generate video. About 10 minutes later you have a 15-second 16:9 MP4 with the original audio and no watermark. You can leave the page while it runs; the video is saved in My videos. Each person keeps their own face, hair and clothes.

A video costs 300 credits. Failed videos are refunded automatically.

When CapCut is enough

  • You want to join in today and spend nothing.
  • The video is a quick joke for a group chat.
  • You found a template that already follows the beats well.

When the generator is worth it

  • You want the beats in the right order, with the right person in each solo.
  • You want the original night terrace, not a template creator's version of it.
  • You want your people's own faces, hair and clothes in the shot, without a watermark.

Either way, only use photos of people who agreed to be in it, and keep the result for personal sharing. The song and its choreography belong to their rights holders.

Try both

Nothing stops you from doing both: make a CapCut version first, then run the same three photos through the generator and compare. The step-by-step guide walks through each method, and the prompts page covers a third route if you'd rather write your own Gangnam Style AI prompt.
